Strands XBB Powerunit with 6 Outputs

The PowerUnit relay with six outputs enables the connection of multiple lights (6 x 120W) to CAN bus controlled vehicles. This relay works in conjunction with the Dongle control unit. The XBB PowerUnit 6® is a perfect option when you want a convenient way to connect LED bars, work lights, and other components.

By connecting via the XBB PowerUnit 6®, there’s less need to tear out the vehicle’s interior to find hard-to-reach cables. The unit can handle up to 6 functions per unit, with 6 outputs with a maximum of 10 A each. The relay connection is labeled ISO 8092-1.

How it Works

The XBB PowerUnit 6 is a relay designed for lighting control, allowing up to 6 separate lights to be connected to a CAN bus-controlled vehicle. Each output can be connected to a max. 120W load, i.e. one PowerUnit 6 enables the installation of up to six lights using one relay. The operating principle of the relay allows more lights or different functions of the lights (such as parking lights, reversing lights, etc.) to be connected.

PowerUnit 6 is intended for use with the XBB Dongle control unit, for example, when installing additional lights when the excitation current cannot be taken directly from the bulb's power cable, but the high beam signal must be captured from the OBD-II port. The Dongle is installed in the OBD-II port, from which it captures the high beam signal, and sends the information to the PowerUnit, which in turn controls the light installed in the car according to that signal. Up to four PowerUnit relays can be connected to one Dongle control unit, i.e. using PowerUnit 6 relays, the outputs are currently 24.
