What are Green Beacons used for?

In Ireland, green beacons are primarily used on plant machinery to signal when the seat belt of the operator is fastened.

Green Beacons on Plant Machinery:

• Seat Belt Indicator: Green beacons on plant machinery, such as diggers, dumpers, Excavators, Dump Trucks, Telehandlers, Cranes, Rollers, Loader Shovels, Forklifts, Lorries, Concrete Pumps, Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs), Volumetric Mixers activate when the operator's seat belt is securely fastened.

• Supplementary to Amber: These green beacons are used alongside the standard amber flashing beacons already installed on the machinery. At Truck Electrics we stock a rage of beacons that incorporate both the green and amber colours in the one unit.

• On-Site Use: They are intended for use when the machinery is working on-site or at roadworks but not on public roads.
